The exhibition of the creations that were obtained by the excavations in accordance with the Project of Aşağı Fırat, was started in 1982.
In the museum, there are 8.118 pieces of archeological items, 14.049 pieces of coins, 459 pieces of ethnographical items and totally 22.623 samples exist.
In the museum, various pots, ornamental fixtures, and tools belonging to Neolithic, Chalcolithic, Bronze Age, Iron Age, Hellenistic Period, Roman Age, Byzantine Period and different creations pertaining to Seljuk and Ottoman Periods are on display.
In the salon of ethnography; weavings such as local rugs, carpets and jijim, women’s and men’s clothes, silver accessories and bronze kitchenwares are exhibited.
Apart from that, golden, silver, bronze coins belonging to Classical Era, Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Islamic, Seljuk and Ottoman Periods can be also seen.
