Amasya Museum with its approximately 24.000 archeological and ethnographic items including coins, seals, handwrittens and mummies belonging to 11 different civilizations, is the most contemporary and comprehensive museum of the region.

In the museum;

Lower Salon Exposure
Amphoras belonging to Roman, Byzantine and Hellenistic Periods, terracotta and bronze sarcophagus, sculptures, with the original marble epigraphs of the mosques, madrasah and similar structures that were built in Amasya in Seljuk and Ottoman Periods, rugs and carpets of Milas, Kırşehir and Avanos regions are all on exhibition.

In the section of Wooden Arts, the rare samples of original doors of wood handicraftmanships of Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman Periods take place.

Upper Salon
Section of Archeology
Bronze Age, Hittite, Urartu, Phrygian Periods, foundlings of excavations in Gümüşhacıköy-İmirler Village, also the creations belonging to İskitler, Hellenistic Period; the glass creations of Roman Age which compose the most prosperous collection of the museum, Roman ceramics and the works of art pertaining to Byzantine Period are displayed.

Hittite God Statuette which is the biggest human statue among the other metal images belonging to Hittite Empire Period that could be found and known as the “Amasya Statuette” or “Hittite God of Storm Teshup” in the literature of archelogy, is one of the unique creations of the world archeology.

A bronze treasure belonging to Hellenistic Period and the treasure consisting of 1134 various pieces of bronze coins which were stricken in the period of Roman Emperor Costantinus The Great ( 306-337 AD), a treasure of copper coins pertaining to Byzantine Period and Seljuk treasures are on exposition. The coins of Middle Age Austria and the silver coins of İlhanli and Ottoman Periods are also presented in this section.

The Section of Ethnographic Creations
In this section, there are 17.187 pieces of ethnographic creations.

Open Air Exposure
In the garden of the museum, the stone creations with large size belonging to Hittite, Hellenistic, Byzantine, İlhanlı, Seljuk and Ottoman Periods are on display. The lions of Hittite Doors which were adduced from Doğantepe and Esençay regions, the grave stelae of Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine Periods, headings of columns, items of monumental structures, marble sarcophagus, epigraphs of construction belonging to İlhanlı, Seljuk and Ottoman Periods, epitaphs, cubes of supplies made of terracotta and the original headings of columns that pertain to Sultan Beyazıd II Mosque are exhibited.

Mummies
In the museum of the garden, six mummies pertaining to İlhanlı Period are on display in the mausoleum of Sultan Mesud I.
